Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has insisted his side must continue to demonstrate their desire and hunger to claim the Primera Liga title after they defeated Deportivo La Coruna on a 3-0 score line at Camp Nou.

Bojan gave the Blaugrana a first half lead but they had to wait until midway through the second half for the second, which came from Pedro before Yaya Toure added a third soon after and Guardiola admitted he had feared an upset going into the game.

"We've gotten better at the end of last season, and that's a good sign. The team has great mental strength and what is clear is that [Real] Madrid will push us all the way," he told a press conference.

"There is no fatigue, there is only desire. There isn't long to go in the season and desire takes you where necessary. We have historic opportunities before us, which may never return and you have to take them. We have to be thinking like this 24 hours a day. Normally the team that totals over 80 points is the champion, but this year is different. but the tone and intensity of the team makes me optimistic."

"All data will be meaningless if we don't finish as champions. I had some fear because we won in Madrid and it seemed that we had finished [the job]. I am very happy with the way my players responded."
