Second half goals from Pedro and Yaya Toure eventually made the win a comfortable one after Bojan had opened the scoring in the first period.
"We went to win the game from the start. This team fight so much, and are generous in the show they put on and that is welcome. They look hungry, wanting the game. It's the same feeling as last year. There is talent to spare and we like it," Laporta is quoted as saying by AS.
He also had special praise for Pedro who typified the fighting spirit on the night.
"He [Pedro] is evolving very well. He shows that fight, that modesty which characterises this Barcelona side. I praise the entire first team and now Pedro, who has scored a great goal but also the effort of [Victor] Valdes, who did well, and [Daniel] Alves's run, which lead to their 'keeper coming out to clear," he noted.
