Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini will use Alvaro Arbeloa at left-back to cover Lionel Messi on the left-flank and create a net of defenders near that position on the pitch to corral the Argentine away from goal, according to AS.

The Spanish international has thus far marked the Ballon d'Or winner four times and has done so with relative success. The fundamental objective will be to not allow Messi to receive the ball and if he does, to refuse to allow him the space to do something with it. Arbeloa's objective will be to never allow Messi to become comfortable at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.

Pellegrini will also reportedly call upon the services of Marcelo, Fernando Gago, Ezequiel Garay, and Raul Albiol to support Arbeloa, particularly if Messi tries to go on one of his trademark diagonal runs from the right wing into the centre of the pitch to unleash a blistering shot on goal that, more often than not, ends up in the back of the net.
