Valencia Will Not Roll Over Against Barcelona - Alejandro Dominguez
The 28-year-old hopes that los Che can emulate the feat of former side Rubin Kazan by beating the Blaugrana on their home turf...
By Anthony Wright
Valencia's Alejandro 'Chori' Dominguez has sent a rallying call to his team-mates ahead of their visit to the Camp Nou to face Barcelona on Sunday.
The Argentine knows that the league table reflects the fact that the Blaugrana are likely to be the dominant side for much of the game, but he is confident in the abilities of Unai Emery's side and hopes they can take a result away from Catalunya.
"I feel that it will be a good, open game and I hope that things go well for us," Dominguez told Barca TV.
"The difference in points between the two teams make it obvious that Barca could dominate, but the quality of players that we have mean that Valencia will stand up to Barcelona."
Los Che are the only side to have stopped Pep Guardiola's team from scoring in the league this season as they drew 0-0 at the Mestalla. Dominguez's former side Rubin Kazan not only equalled the feat in Russia, but beat the European champions on their home turf earlier this season, and the Argentine admits he will never forget the memory of the 2-1 victory in the Champions League.
"It will stay in the memory of the team, of everyone at the club. Not even we thought we could win. We went to play, to see what would happen, [with the mindset that] they wouldn't score many goals, but we never thought that would happen."
