Barcelona defender Rafael Marquez celebrates after scoring the opening goal in his side's 3-1 Champions League win over Sporting.
Speaking at a post-training press conference today, Barcelona's Rafa Marquez highlighted his desire to win La Liga and celebrate the Champions League final in the Bernabeu, thus leaving Los Blancos without a title whilst winning one on their great rivals' home pitch.

"If we were to win La Liga, we would leave Real Madrid with nothing and if we were to win the Champions League, we would celebrate it in the Berbaneu," said Marquez in comments reported by AS that described the importance of both competitions for the Blaugrana.

Asked if Barcelona celebrated Madrid's defeat in the Champions League, Marquez gave a coy response: "What happens in the dressing room stays in the dressing room, just like in Las Vegas.

"In both cases, we need to take care so that the same thing that happened to Madrid does not happen to us. I don't think they did not respect their rivals, just that Lyon were simply better."

On this weekend's clash against Valencia, Marquez warned of the match's importance. "The match is a key fixture and David Villa's absence will be important, but the adversary will be dangerous - perhaps a little less without him."

Marquez also assured the press that he is in fine form and announced that he will soon be finished on the international stage. "Travelling with my national team is difficult because I don't recover as I did 20 years ago. This could be my last World Cup."
