In comments reported by AS, Barcelona director general Joan Oliver has declared Barca coach Pep Guardiola as "the best coach in the world", acknowledging that only two other coaches exist, Inter's Jose Mourinho and the England head coach Fabio Capello, who are "outside the market".

"Pep should earn more than he is now. Apart from Mourinho and Capello, Guardiola has demonstrated that he is the best, and for that he deserves to earn more after those two," said the club official.

Guardiola has reportedly come to a verbal agreement with the Catalan giants to coach the Blaugrana for another season, but the details of the formal deal have not yet been put into place. In his first year as coach, Pep won a record six consecutive titles, lifting the Champions League trophy, La Liga title, Copa del Rey, Spanish Supercopa, European Supercup, and the Club World Cup.
