Liverpool's Fernando Torres: Spain Are Motivated Against France
El Nino was on hand to issue comments to the press...

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres expressed his happiness at having recovered from his latest injury to arrive in time for Spain's international friendly match against France, a team Torres feels have the ability to do very well in this summer's World Cup.
"These matches are great, above all because we are against a team that we view as one of the best. These are always great matches for Spain and we have a lot of motivation to play against them, above all since they eliminated us from the last World Cup," said the striker in comments reported by Marca.
'El Nino' expressed his satisfaction at having recovered in time to train with his national team and be available for the match. "Luckily, I arrived in time. Being with the national team is a prize for me. I have the luck of a coach that has called me up to play after just two matches since returning from injury."
Spanish coach Vicente Del Bosque's descion to call up Torres apparently did not sit well with Liverpool coach Rafa Benitez, who did not want to see his player force himself and fall back into a struggle against injury. "I understand Rafa's position," said Torres. "It is normal that he would think of his interests, but he knows that every player wants to play with the national team. For us it is an honour to be here, to play as much as possible, and to return to our respective teams stronger than when we arrived."
After scoring in Liverpool's last match, Torres did concede that he was fatigued after having played nearly 90 minutes after two months out.
As for the future, Torres emphasised La Roja's form in the months leading up to the World Cup. "We go as a group. We have demonstrated that this group of players is very strong, no matter who is playing. At the World Cup, we forget about our names and play as a group under a flag."
