Barcelona Suffer Delay In Return To Spain
The Barca plane was subjected to a delay and strong turbulence in its return to Spanish soil.
By Cyrus C. Malek
The Barcelona squad were delayed by over two hours in their return to Catalunya from Stuttgart because of a strike by French air traffic controllers.
As reported by Sport, the Blaugrana airplane had to take an altered route to avoid French airspace, instead going through southern Austria, Italy and the Balearic islands before finally arriving in Barcelona.
The flight was also subjected to some strong turbulence, which made for a rough landing in Catalunya and raised alarm for some members of the team.
Barca were scheduled to take part in a training session today after arriving in the Catalan capital, but because of the delay they were forced to suspend training. The team will return to training on Thursday afternoon after which Yaya Toure is scheduled for a press conference.
