Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes said after the defeat to Atletico Madrid that his team had performed well, especially at the back and said that they must take advantage of the fact that they are still in front in the title race.

Valdes became the third highest capped Barca goalkeeper at the Vicente Calderon but it wasn't a good night as he was beaten twice, by Diego Forlan and Simao Sabrosa, as Atleti put the champions to the sword for the third season in a row in this fixture.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic had pulled one back for the champions but they never looked likely to equalise, however Valdes praised the performance.

"The team played a good game, especially in defence. Here at the Calderon, it is always hard to get points. We continue as leaders [in the league] and must make use of it," he told AS afterwards.
