Barcelona Midfielder Seydou Keita Out For Four Weeks With Hamstring Injury
The Mali international suffers a torn hamstring in Madrid...
By Paul Madden
Barcelona midfielder Seydou Keita is set to miss a month of action after picking up a hamstring injury in the Blaugrana's defeat to Atletico Madrid on Sunday.
The Mali international had to withdraw from the game at the Vicente Calderon after just two minutes and Barcelona medical staff later confirmed that the 30-year-old suffered a tear in his right hamstring, meaning he will be out of action for approximately a month according to AS.
Keita is certain to miss Barca's trip to Stuttgart for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League clash and it is doubtful whether he will be available for the return leg on March 17 or the Primera Liga tie against Valencia at Camp Nou three days earlier.
He will undergo further scans on the hamstring on Monday when the team return to Catalunya to determine the full extent of the injury.
