"Losing players is always difficult because we lose quality and rhythm, but we have a team with good depth and we are prepared to take on these challenges. We want to win another match, which will be very important. We always play with the aim of winning and it will be a very strong result after so many injuries and suspensions," said the Brazilian in comments reported by Marca.
As for his own adaptation to the team after coming over to Barca in a summer transfer, Maxwell revealed that he feels "very well" physically and that his "team-mates help him a lot. The team is playing very well and I am always ready to contribute."
As for Barca's next match against Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon, the defender acknowledged that it would be a difficult encounter but the Blaugrana would play to win.
"They have a lot of quality in attack with goalscorers, speed, and technique...it will be very difficult, but we hope to nullify them and create our own chances to win the game."
Finally, when asked about the performances of referees in La Liga, Maxwell stated that the titles Barca had won were deserved.
"It's a controversy that has been fabricated by the press. We are concentrated on our own work and the rest is insignificant."
Maxwell is billed to be in the starting lineup for Barca's next Liga match against Atletico as both Dani Alves and Eric Abidal are down with long-term injuries while Gerard Pique and Rafa Marquez are suspended after picking up red cards in last weekend's match against Getafe.
