Atletico Madrid's league campaign has not gone according to plan, and Simao has stressed the need for greater consistency.

Speaking to Fifa.com, Simao said, "We must recognize that we have been very inconsistent, especially in the league."

"We win a game, have three days of happiness, then we lose, and it is a funeral. We want to maintain a high level.

"At the moment, the objective is to reach the final of the Copa Del Rey, and we are very focussed on that."

Atletico are currently in 12th place, with 24 points.
