Portuguese midfielder Manuel Fernandes has insisted that he is focussed on helping Valencia achieve their objectives this season after his proposed loan switch to Inter collapsed.
Fernandes, who turns 24 on Friday, had reportedly sought regular first team football in a bid to bolster his World Cup prospects but will now have to force his way into Unai Emery's plans on a more consistent basis if he is to fulfill his that objective.
"I will work hard and be prepared to help the team achieve our goals like the first day I came here," he is quoted as saying by Super Deporte.
"I wanted to try have more minutes at another club and [joining Inter] was a good choice for everyone, but for me it's already forgotten. I am totally focussed on doing my best and being prepared to help the team achieve our goals as early as possible."
Despite fitness being the reported reason for the breakdown in his move to Italy, Fernandes is fit and available for the Valladolid game at the Mestalla this weekend.
''I'm looking forward to playing as soon as possible, if the coach so chooses, and if at the Mestalla, all the better. I feel loved by the fans, who have always been great to me," he noted.
