Player Ratings: Deportivo La Coruna 1-3 Real Madrid

Los Blancos broke their Riazor hoodoo in fine style on Saturday night, and took a closer look at the players on show...

Aranzubia: 6
- Made a superb stop to deny Raul in the first half but was let down by some poor defending. Should have done better with the final goal.

Laure: 5.5 - His header led to Granero's opening goal, and he looked uncomfortable whenever he was confronted by Guti.

Colotto: 5.5 - Defence was opened up time and time again and this was in part due to Colotto's positioning.

Lopo: 6 - Made some good tackles but looked unusually uncertain in defence. Improved in the second half.

Manuel Pablo: 5 - Getting forward when he could but his delivery was poor. Exposed in defence by some fine passing - Filipe will be a big miss at left back.

Antonio Tomas: 6 - Overrun in the first half but provided more cover to his defence during the second period.

Juca: 6.5 - Little help to his defence in the first half but, like Tomas, he was steadier in the later stages and looked to move the ball quickly from the defensive to attacking third.

Juan Rodriguez: 6.5 - Having to drop deep to support the defence but Valeron's withdrawal allowed him to play more centrally, where he was more influential.

Valeron: 5 - Trying to pull the strings for Deportivo in attack but to no avail - his passing was poor and tired noticeably as the game went on.

Pablo Alvarez: 5.5 - Careless when he came back to help out defensively and poor touch in attack. Taken off with 15 minutes remaining.

Adrian: 6 - He was given little to go on but worked hard up front and tried to create opportunities out of nothing.

Ivan Perez: 6 - Provided some width on the right and allowed Rodriguez to operate more centrally.

Riki: 7 - Didn't have long on the pitch but he won and scored a penalty to give Deportivo brief hope of snatching a point.

Bodipo: N/A - Unnoticable in his brief cameo.

Casillas: 6 - He had almost nothing to do for the entire game. Nearly saved Riki's penalty but couldn't get enough of a touch on it.

Arbeloa: 6.5 - Had the freedom to support Kaka on the overlap; while his crossing was sub-standard, he set up the final goal.

Sergio Ramos: 6.5 - Slotted in perfectly at centre half and was ready to abandon his forays forward. Gave away a soft penalty near the end.

Albiol: 7 - Covering well for his team mates as they bombed forward, and was dominant in the air.

Marcelo: 5 - Really cannot be relied upon defensively. Showed his insecurities on a number of occasoins and was bailed out by his team-mates. Gave away possession cheaply in the build up to the penalty.

Granero: 7 - Scored with an opportunistic goal but also making some great passes to open up the hosts' defence. However, his performance dipped late on.

Xabi Alonso: 7.5 - Sat deep to dictate the tempo and ensured that his side kept hold of possession. Linked up well with Kaka and made some excellent cross-field passes.

Guti: 8 - Sublime assist for the goal as he showed great skill and awareness to put the ball on a plate for Benzema. Generally very confident on the ball and always looking to create a chance.

Kaka: 7 - Good performance as he linked the midfield and strikers on the counter-attack and was involved in the second goal. Could have scored a couple of goals in the second half.

Benzema: 7.5 - Scored an important brace, both for his team and for his self-confidence. While he couldn't miss his first goal, he got into a good position to wrap the game up with his second.

Raul: 5.5 - Looked rusty during his rare start and should have scored twice in the first half. Replaced late on.

Drenthe: N/A - Came on to provide support for Marcelo and ensure that his side kept their lead.
