Dudek thinks the Blancos can win without 'CR9'...

Real Madrid goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek has stressed the importance of the team wining without Cristiano Ronaldo following the league’s decision to uphold his suspension.

"The suspension puts Cristiano and us in a complicated situation. He never tried to hurt the player. It was just an accident,” Dudek told Realmadrid.com.

“He was unlucky. I think a two game suspension is excessive, but I believe we can win without him. He is important, but we managed to win in Valencia without him."

The former Liverpool 'keeper went on to reveal he still believes the Merengues can catch league leaders Barcelona and stressed the importance of making a good start to the second half of the season.

“We have to cut into Barcelona's lead in the second half of the season,” he said. “We can do it."

Real Madrid travel to A Coruna this weekend to take on Deportivo at the Riazor and Dudek stressed the importance of the Blancos’ strong squad going into the game.

"Every team in every sport sustains injuries. Our squad is large and now is the time for others to have their chance. We will try to do our best."
