Official: Sampdoria's Marius Stankevicius Joins Sevilla On Loan Deal
Sevilla have made the Lithuanian's signing official...
The Lithuanian international, who arrived in Sevilla in the early hours of Wednesday morning, has joined Los Nervionenses on a loan deal for the rest of the season from Sampdoria with an option to buy at the end of the campaign.
Stankevicius will cover the absence of Sergio Sanchez, who has been ruled out of playing football for the time being after being diagnosed with a heart condition. Sevilla divulged that the club was 'very pleased' with the arrival of the player to the Andalusian capital.
The 28-year-old Stankevicius is reputed as a tactically and technically sound player, who can play as either a right-back or a central defender. He also exhibits a powerful shot, plays well aerially, and is surprisingly strong in taking throw-ins.
