The Portuguese international has refused to listen to the Barca rumours, insisting that he would like to remain in Lisbon until the end of the season...
In light of rumours suggesting he is being closely tracked by Pep Guardiola's Barcelona in the winter transfer market, Portuguese midfielder Miguel Veloso has declared his intention to remain at Sporting CP until the end of the season.
In statements published by the Portuguese press, the midfielder spoke of his hopes to continue at his present club until the end of the current season at the very least; although, after the summer "we will see what happens".
At 23 years old, Veloso is one of the great young promises of Portuguese football, demonstrating superb control of the ball and a powerful shot, which he showed to full effect at the weekend in scoring a brilliant goal. He has taken part in 26 matches this season and has scored five goals.
The potential fee for the Portuguese has been reported at €18 million and the youngster has enjoyed much interest from a variety of suitors, including English side Bolton, who had an offer for the player rejected last season, and Manchester City.
