Getafe Coach Michel Pleased With Hard-Fought Victory Over Valladolid

The boss is happy with the club's progress after another victory...

Getafe coach Michel was delighted with the efforts of his players as they fought hard to defeat Valladolid 1-0 in Madrid this afternoon.

The match looked to be heading for a goalless draw but Francisco Casquero netted seven minutes from time to give the Madrid-based club another victory in their impressive rise up the table.

The victory put Getafe to within three points of fourth-placed Sevilla, and Michel told journalists after the match, “We are playing much better at the moment, and our place in the table shows how well we are working. I see belief in the players and it is they who worked hard to close the game out today.

“You want to be demanding and it sometimes it is worthwhile. We are extremely pleased because we defended and attacked very well today.”

Michel also took time to praise the composure of Casquero in providing the winning goal, adding, “[Francisco] Casquero’s goal was very good. It looks like an easy shot but it is not.

“He has finished it off with great quality and he is very important to us.”
