Shakhtar Donetsk Coach Mircea Lucescu: I Would Let Razvan Rat Go To Real Madrid
The Romanian defender is eager for a move...
Speculation linking Rat to the Bernabeu has been rife, with Los Merengues in need of a left-back, and Shakhtar concede that it will be hard to keep him, should Madrid make an offer. Speaking to AS, coach Lucescu said, "I will not block him from going to Madrid."
"I am proud of him, because he has given everything for Shakthar, and deserves the best."
"He is a great footballer."
For his part, Rat stated that he would not think twice about such a move, saying, "First they have to speak to my representatives."
"But it is clear that everyone would like to go to Madrid."
Rat has been at Shakhtar since 2003, making 120 league appearances.
