Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso believes Kaka can be the pivotal player who will help the team pose a serious title challenge to Barcelona this term.

Los Merengues are just two points behind the Blaugrana who lead the Primera Division standings. Despite their narrow 1-0 loss to the Blaugrana in November's El Clasico, the former Liverpool man believes his side can enjoy a successful 2010.

"We have been growing well since that match [against Barcelona]," he told Marca.

"I think we can combine our own style of football to create a more destabilising affect compared to Barcelona.

"Kaka? From his position, he can make this team play even better."

The Santiago Bernabeu outfit travel to Osasuna for week 16 of La Liga next weekend.
