Valencia Fans Vote Santiago Canizares As Best Goalkeeper In Club History
Santi wins historic award...
Former Valencia goalkeeper Santiago Canizares has been voted as the number one stopper in the club's 90-year history by fans on the official website.
Speaking to Amunt magazine, Santi said, "I can only thank all the readers and users for their votes and support for this honour.
"I'm extremely proud to be a part of the history of a club like Valencia."
Moving on to discuss the current Valencia side, he added, "I've no doubt that the team will finish in the Champions League positions, as is the club's natural place. We're having a great season right now.
"What's more, the team have a chance to go far in both the Europa League and the Copa del Rey, to add to the titles previously gained."
