Having already missed the past two weeks, the Brazil number nine and Sevilla superstar striker Luis Fabiano is set to miss Sevilla's clashes with Barcelona in January.

Out with an injured ankle, Sevilla's chief medical advisor has announced the Brazilian will be able to return to action "if everything goes well, at the middle or end of January", as reported by Barcelona daily Sport.

As such, the Brazilian will miss Sevilla's three matches against Barcelona in January – two Copa del Rey games on the January 5 and 13 and a Liga match at the Camp Nou on January 10.

Also missing in those matches will be the two sides' African contigents – Barcelona's Seydou Keita and Yaya Toure and Sevilla's Didier Zokora, Arouna Kone, Frederic Kanoute and Koffi Romaric – obligated to serve their countries in the African Cup of Nations in Angola.
