Daniel Diaz has admitted he is “very aware” of the fact that Argentina’s top two clubs harbour the desire to bring the Getafe defender back to his homeland.

"There was a call from Boca to the club [Getafe], but they do not want to sell me," he admitted to TyC Sports.

Diaz went on to hint that he may be interested in a return to Boca, the team he left two years ago to join Getafe, but also sated that he was happy in Spain.

"If they want to negotiate, they’re welcome. I am fine here, I’m comfortable."

The former Cruz Azul centre-back went on to dismiss speculation linking him with a move back to Boca’s arch-rivals River plate.

"I heard something about that," he said, before dismissing the link, "I don’t think they want a player who came through Boca."
