Manuel Preciado Happy With Sporting Gijon Effort In Sevilla Defeat
The coach turns his focus to their final game of the year against Valladolid...
Sporting Gijon coach Manuel Preciado said he couldn't fault his players after they suffered a narrow defeat to Sevilla at El Molinon.
Frederic Kanoute scored the only goal of an even contest to take all three points for the Andalusian visitors and afterwards Preciado immediately turned his focus to getting a result in their final Primera Liga game of the season against Real Valladolid next week.
"[Andres] Palop made a couple of incredible saves and after Kanoute scored it is difficult to come back against Sevilla. The second half we had chances to equalise. Absences were noted, although I have no complaints about my players, they fought hard today and delivered their best effort at all times," he told a press conference.
"Next week we have a game [against Valladolid] of our own level in the league and we need to be prepared thoroughly to try to go on holiday with the most points possible."
