El Clasico Win Doesn't Make Barcelona Better Than Us - Real Madrid Coach Manuel Pellegrini
The Chilean coach says his team can compete with Barca for the title...
Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini has declared that the defeat to Barcelona in El Clasico at the end of November does not mean that the champions are a better team than Los Merengues.
The Chilean also declared that if his team plays to their potential they can compete with Barcelona but he insisted that his team cannot replicate Barca's style of play because that is not the Madrid way.
"Winning does not mean being superior. If Real Madrid plays like we can play we can compete with Barca," he stated, according to AS.
"The two styles are different but we saw two games ago [in El Clasico], we had more chances than them.
"Madrid has many direct players. At the Bernabeu people like us to get to the area quickly, create danger and score quickly."
Madrid will look to maintain the pressure on Barcelona at the top of the Primera Liga table when they take on Valencia at the Mestalla on Saturday.
