In the wake of Spain's Group H draw with Chile, Switzerland and Honduras, Vicente del Bosque has commented on the challenges that await La Roja in next summer's World Cup.

Spain have a reputation of underachieving on the international stage, but after winning Euro 2008 and earning the world number one ranking, the Spanish national squad are hopeful of going deep into next summer's World Cup.

However, things will not be wine and roses for La Roja according to national team coach Vicente del Bosque, who has warned of the quality that awaits Spain in the group stage. "I am neither complaining nor rejoicing for the draw," commented the Spanish coach. "Switzerland and Chile are numbers 17 and 18 in the rankings and are not very far from the best. Honduras, according to my sources, are also very strong. It will not be easy."

The former Real Madrid coach also congratulated Los Blancos on qualifying in first place from their Champions League group and expressed his hope that Barcelona and Sevilla accomplish the same on Wednesday. "For years now, we have seen Spanish clubs do very well in the competition and this is a good sign for Spanish players."

The head coach also expressed his satisfaction that all five of the players shortlisted for the FIFA World Player of the Year award were playing their football in La Liga, saying Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta's nominations among the five finalists were particularly well deserved.
