Joan Laporta Brands Barcelona's Model 'A Success'
Laporta boats that Barca's model of developing players for a place in the first team is a clear success...
Citing Lionel Messi, Xavi Hernandez, and Andres Iniesta's candidacies as three of the five nominations for the FIFA World Player award - Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo are the other two - Laporta has praised his club, stating that "farming a great number of players from the cantera into the first team permits these types of successes, both individual and collective".
"We work every day to the best of our ability and now we are bearing the fruits of our labour by living one of the best moments in the club's history," added the Barca supremo. "The model has shown itself to function wonderfully".
