Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery: Real Madrid Guru Zinedine Zidane Has Only Asked About My Knee
Quashing rumours about a possible transfer to Madrid, the Bayern winger has stated that Zidane has only asked about his recent injury...
Franck Ribery was allegedly on the shortlist of Real Madrid transfers for next season, but the Frenchman has indicated otherwise, stating that he has had no contact with Zinedine Zidane other than friendly questions about the Bayern Munich winger's injured knee.
Zidane, who is working in an ambassadorial capacity for Real Madrid, was implicated as a liason between the French winger and the Spanish giants, but thus far contact between the Madrid legend and the mercurial Frenchman has been of a more casual nature.
"I only read about interest from Chelsea or Real Madrid in the papers" declared Ribery who has not pursued a contract extension with Bayern because "what is important right now is that I make a full recovery".
The Frenchman has been hampered by a 'difficult' knee injury that he has described as both 'physically and mentally painful'. Ribery has forecasted a return to action in 'about ten days'.
