Real Madrid Star Kaka Nursing A Groin Strain - Report

The injury is not believed to be serious....

Real Madrid midfielder Kaka trained separately to his team-mates at the club's training ground in Valdebebas on Monday after picking up a knock in Sunday's El Clasico defeat to Barcelona at Camp Nou.

The Brazilian playmaker is understood to have suffered a groin strain in the 1-0 loss to the champions but it was not a sufficient concern to warrant substituting him during the game.

As a result of the injury he will be subjected to medical treatment and physiotherapy and will undergo a specific training program in a bid to be fit for the game against Almeria at the Bernabeu this weekend.

Christoph Metzelder, Guti and Ruud van Nistelrooy all had minor participation in the training session before returning to the gym to continue their recuperation in a bid to return to first team action.

Madrid could find themselves five points behind Barcelona tonight as the champions fixture against Xerez has been moved forward due to FIFA Club World Cup commitments.
