Pochettino Disappointed With Espanyol Display Against Atletico Madrid

The Blanc i Blau show no resistance against a resurgent Atleti side...

Mauricio Pochettino, Espanyol
Espanyol coach Mauricio Pochettino was disappointed with his sides poor performance after they suffered a 4-0 defeat away to Atletico Madrid in the Primera Liga.

Two goals from Sergio Aguero and one each from Diego Forlan and Maxi Rodriguez condemned the Blanc i Blau to a comprehensive defeat at the Vicente Calderon.

"We're very disappointed, we're sad because it is a hard defeat to take. We must get the team spirit back and get back to what made us strong," Pochettino said after the game, as quoted by AS.

"The result is heavy. At 1-0 we were playing better when it went 2-0 that was what really hurt us. Then came the red card [for Facundo Roncaglia] and the third and fourth goals."

"The disturbing thing is that we lacked the aggressiveness that we normally have. We lacked and have been very scattered in attack."
