Quique Flores Praises Atletico Madrid Players After Espanyol Rout
He said his team must continue playing like this to climb the table...
Atletico Madrid coach Quique Flores praised his team after they finally returned to winning ways in the Primera Liga with a 4-0 rout of Espanyol at the Vicente Calderon.
Goals from Diego Forlan and Maxi Rodriguez either side of a brace from Sergio Aguero gave Los Colchoneros just their second win in 12 league games so far this season.
"We have recovered the good feelings that are very necessary for the future," Flores said afterwards, as quoted by AS.
"We had a quieter game than expected against a team that is doing well. We have had a great game, we have done a great job and we recovered the feeling that we need for the future."
The coach also said that the clean sheet was important and added that the team must continue in this vein if they are to push themselves up to where they belong in the league table.
"Leaving with a clean sheet is also very important. We must continue in this manner to put the team where it belongs," he declared.
