Pick Your Barcelona Team For El Clasico

Barca will have all their troops available to face their eternal enemies, but who will be on the frontline? Goal.com invites you to pick your starting XI…

Messi _ Ibrahimovic - Barcelona

After an exhausting but rewarding trip to Athletic Bilbao last weekend and a solid, morale-boosting win over Inter in the Champions League in midweek, Barcelona will head into El Clasico in high spirits as they prepare to welcome Real Madrid to the Camp Nou.

In addition to the encouraging results, coach Pep Guardiola will also have his full complement of players available, something that didn’t seem possible just a week ago. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has completely shaken off his hamstring strain and reports are that he will start the game.

Lionel Messi has also been training normally for the past few days after recovering from his adductor tear in his thigh, but it is possible that he will only start from the bench. Dani Alves has shrugged off a minor ankle knock he picked up in midweek while Yaya Toure has been cleared of the H1N1 infection.

Pep Guardiola will not release his confirmed convoy until just before the game, but he has revealed that Gaby Milito has been included in his 21-man provisional squad list.

Goalkeepers: Victor Valdes, Pinto

Defenders: Dani Alves, Pique, Puyol, Rafa Marquez, Chygrynskiy, Gaby Milito, Abidal, Maxwell

Midfielders: Xavi, Toure Yaya, Busquets, Keita, Jeffren, Iniesta

Forwards: Messi, Pedro, Ibrahimovic, Bojan, Henry

We ask you to leave your choices in the comments feature below using hyphens to separate positions, working from right to left. For example, here is the side that could line up in a 4-3-3 formation:

Valdes – Alves, Pique, Puyol, Abidal – Xavi, Keita, Busquets – Iniesta, Ibrahimovic, Henry

Visca el Barca!
