Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has insisted that his side will beat bitter rivals Real Madrid when they face off in El Clasico at Camp Nou on Sunday.

The champions go into Sunday's game trailing Madrid by a point and Pique believes that his side will beat Los Merengues to resume top spot in the league race.

"I believe in my team, who look to attack in every game we play, no matter who the opponent. If we play well it is normal for us to win. We are in the right condition to get a positive result in El Clasico," he told El Mundo Deportivo.

While he believes Barca will win Pique admits that Real are a tougher prospect this season and he is expecting a difficult game and a battle for the title.

"I think they are more solid defensively. It takes more for them to create chances but they dominate games more and play very well on the counterattack. This year will be harder to win the league because they know us more but they still are adapting," he added before saying he will take any sort of victory.

"I'm not predicting results because then they don't happen. I want to win, I do not care if it is 1-0 and we score in the last minute."
