Real Madrid Defender Raul Albiol A Doubt For Barcelona Game - Report
The defender strained ligaments against Zurich...
Real Madrid centre back Raul Albiol is a doubt for Sunday's crunch El Clasico game against Barcelona at Camp Nou according to AS.
Albiol shipped a heavy challenge from Florian Stahel in the 1-0 UEFA Champions League victory over Zurich at the Bernabeu and as a result is understood to have strained medial ligaments in his right knee.
The injury was not bad enough to warrant substituting the 24-year-old but he was believed to have already been suffering discomfort in his knee going into this game after picking up a knock while on international duty for Spain last week.
The full extent of Albiol's knee injury should become clear after a scan tomorrow.
Madrid travel to Catalunya on Sunday looking for just their third league victory in 25 visits to Camp Nou. A win would extend their lead at the top of the Primera Liga to four points.
