Official: Lucas Licht Leaves Getafe On A Free Transfer
The Argentine is aiming to return to his former club after negotiating his release from el Geta...
Argentine defender Lucas Licht has rescinded his contract with Getafe, according to a brief statement on the club's official website.
"After an agreement was reached between Getafe C.F. and the player Lucas Licht, the player has rescinded his contract with the club and ceases to belong to Getafe," the note read.
Having joined the club in 2006 from Argentine outfit Gimnasia de La Plata, Licht featured on a regular basis until the arrival of Mane this summer, making 80 league appearances.
The termination of his contract allows him to return to Argentina, and the defender recently stated that he hopes to sign a new contract with Gimnasia.
"The contract will be signed on Monday or Tuesday, but we have come to a verbal agreement," he explained to TyC Sports.
Though his release from Getafe has taken slightly longer than anticipated, the 28-year-old is now clear to start a new chapter in his career.
