Rubin Kazan To Make Offer For Getafe Striker Roberto Soldado - Report
The affluent Russians are set to offer the former Real Madrid star a lucrative package to entice him from Getafe...
Newly-crowned Russian champions Rubin Kazan are already in the market to strengthen their squad for next season, and have pinpointed Getafe striker Roberto Soldado as a potential purchase.
Spanish publication Marca reports that Rubin, who retained their Russian Premier League title this weekend courtesy of a 0-0 draw against Zenit, have offered the 24-year old €4 million per season to swap Madrid for Eastern Europe.
Soldado, who began his career at Real Madrid where he spent the majority of his time on the periphery of the first team, has enjoyed a fruitful spell with Getafe following his switch in 2008.
He had been previously linked with a move to Russia at the end of the 2007/08 campaign when Madrid were looking to sell, but the player opted to stay in Spain.
However, the opportunity to play in the Champions League and collect a substantial wage increase may be too much for him to turn down.
Soldado has been capped at all levels by Spain, including two call-ups at full international level, which he earned during qualification for Euro 2008.
