Guardiola Unconcerned By Barcelona's Drop Following Athletic Bilbao Draw
The Blaugrana are in second place, heading into El Clasico...
Barcelona fell behind Real Madrid into second place after their draw against Athletic Bilbao, but Pep Guardiola does not believe this will have an impact during El Clasico.
The Blaugrana could only manage a 1-1 draw at the San Mames, and are facing major illness and injury concerns. Speaking to Marca after the match, Guardiola said, "I am more worried about recovering players, and doing well on Tuesday."
"Obviously it would have been better to be first, but we must continue. We must play with whoever we have available.
"We did not win because we made mistakes. When Toquero entered, they began to play long balls, and we forgot how to deal with them.
"San Mames creates these mistakes, and we must give credit to Athletic."
Barca received further bad news after the game, with Lionel Messi shaping as a major doubt for the week ahead.
