Real Madrid Sporting Director Valdano Sees Room For Improvement After Racing Santander Win
The Argentine was also tight-lipped on Cristiano Ronaldo's return...
Jorge Valdano was encouraged by Real Madrid's latest win but conceded that there was still work to do.
Speaking to Marca after the game, he said, "We have a good points total after 11 rounds."
"The good thing is that we did not make any defensive mistakes. We had a lot of chances to extend our lead.
"We are slowly reaching our level. We must remember that we lacked some key players."
Valdano then talked about the extent to which Cristiano Ronaldo could play a part in El Clasico, continuing, "He has not played for two months and cannot jump straight from the stretcher onto the pitch."
"It will be a risk and we know that he will take time to reach his level.
"We will treat the situation sensibly."
