Tenerife 1-2 Sevilla: Perotti & Renato Score As Visitors Down Tete
The Sevillistas continue their successful journey in the league...
Goals from Diego Perotti and Renato gave Sevilla a two-goal lead before Tenerife pulled one back with a Nino strike, which proved to be too little, too late.
Sevilla were first to create danger, and they could have scored as early as in the 13th minute, when Kanoute was clear on goal but failed to beat Aragoneses as his shot went straight at the Tenerife keeper.
Ten minutes later, the hosts responded, as an Omar cross from the left was cleared by Squillaci inside the box before Nino could apply a finishing touch to it.
Sevilla got the lead in the 32nd minute, through Diego Perotti. A quick counter-attack gave Navas plenty of room to operate on down the right, and he sent a cross to the far post for Perotti to send home.
The visitors came out strongly in the second half and doubled their lead in the 48th minute. A good move by Kanoute on the wing saw him play in the ball for Luis Fabiano, who placed it for Renato to score with a powerful effort.
Sevilla almost added a third in the 66th minute, when Romaric's cross to the far post met Navas, whose volley went over the bar.
Tenerife never looked happy with the result, and their pressure paid off in the 76th minute as Nino found the back of the net with a good volley following a cross from Juanlu.
