Veteran Racing Santander forward Pedro Munitis is hoping his side can use their Copa del Rey comeback as a springboard for launching a surprise win over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu today.

Going into the second leg at El Sardinero Racing trailed Salamanca 1-0 and fell a further goal behind before scoring four times to secure their place in the fifth round and although Munitis believes there is never a good time to go to the Bernabeu he says this may give them some much needed confidence.

"The comeback in Cup has changed our morale. That must be our springboard. No time is a good time to go to the Bernabeu but we must be very brave to try to pull off a surprise," the former Blanco told AS.

The 34-year-old also believes that Madrid's shock defeat to Alcorcon in the cup could prove something of a double-edged sword for his side.

"We should be on alert, I don't know which is worse but I believe in the greatness of football and the idea that a team like Racing can beat the individuality of Madrid," Munitis stated.
