Valencia Won't Consider Selling Best Players - Club President Manuel Llorente
He says they want to retain their players to maintain stability in the team...
David Villa and David Silva have been subject to continued speculation in recent seasons, with reports linking the duo to big money moves to Barcelona, Real Madrid and further afield, mainly to the English Premier League but Llorente seems determined to retain his prize assets to protect the stability of the club.
"Right now we will not consider selling any player because what we want is stability as the team is doing very well. We do not want to unsettle the focus of the team," he said, according to AS.
"We cannot be focussed on continuously talking about selling Villa and Silva for several months before the end of the season. The club doesn't need it."
Llorente reaffirmed his desire "not to sell major players" and recalled a time where Barcelona tried to buy David Albelda, Pablo Aimar and Roberto Ayala in a block deal which the club successfully fended off.
