Mahamadou Diarra Not Leaving Real Madrid - Agent

Mahamadou Diarra is set to disappoint Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal by staying at Real Madrid in the January transfer window.

The Mali international has seen his chances at the Santiago Bernabeu become strictly limited since he returned from a long-term injury and looks set to be sold.

Los Blancos spent around €250 million in the summer on new players, and with the rise to prominence of Lassana Diarra in midfield, namesake Mahamadou is unable to gain a place in the side.

That has led to speculation that he will be part of president Florentino Perez's planned clear-out, which will see several stars, including Fernando Gago and Ruud van Nistelrooy, leave the club.

Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal have all registered their interest in Diarra, and Los Merengues would have welcomed an offer from at least one of them in January.

Instead any activity will not happen until the summer, according to the player's agent, Frederic Guerra.

“In January he will be with Mali at the African Nations Cup, so [he] won’t be moving," Guerra told reporters in Spain.
