Valencia midfielder David Silva has dismissed speculation about his future by saying he is keen to focus on his team and on Spain, adding that he would prefer if La Furia Roja did not go to the World Cup as favourites.

Silva has constantly been linked with a move away from the Mestalla, with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United all said to be suitors for the attacking midfielder, but he is keen to concentrate on the job at hand.

"The fact is that for years and in summer there has been talk about many things but right now I'm totally focused on Spain and on my team," he told a press conference.

"We must go slowly and not assume the tag of favourites. We know we're in a good time but you have to go with humility and calmly, that is how winning things is achieved.

"We hope not to go to the World Cup as favourites."
