Real Madrid Have Nothing To Envy At Barcelona - Full-Back Marcelo

The skilful defender has opened the war of words ahead of the El Clasico encounter in two weeks...

Marcelo - Real Madrid
Real Madrid left-back Marcelo believes that the capital club have the ability to oust Barcelona from their title as Primera Division champions, and that they have nothing to fear from their trip to the Camp Nou for their El Clasico clash at the end of the month.

In an interview with Marca, the Brazilian also discussed how he is currently enjoying his time at the Bernabeu, and that coach Manuel Pellegrini is the man to lead Los Blancos to glory this season.

He said, “We know that the only solution is to keep working hard for [Manuel] Pellegrini. When the best team loses it is a failure. But I think we have a good attitude and we are working well, and the results will come.”

Speaking of their main rivals, he said, “We do not look to the clash with Barcelona, because we have matches against Racing Santander and Zurich first. We have to take things game by game.

“We do not think that Barcelona are better than us. We will see what happens at the Camp Nou, but we have nothing to envy at from them [Barcelona].”

Marcelo also gave his verdict on some of the new additions that arrived at the club during the summer, and singled out Kaka for particular praise.

He concluded, “Yes, he [Kaka] is one of the best. Playing with Kaka is easy, as is Raul. They are very intelligent and they know what to do at each moment. With these types of players, with such quality, it is easy to get in tune with.”
