Our Goal Is To Clean Up Valencia And Make A Profit - President Manuel Llorente

The supremo does not want to see the club losing more money...

Manuel Llorente, Valencia (MARCA)
Valencia president Manuel Llorente has revealed to AS that the club have been losing "industrial amounts of money" in recent years, but he hopes that the worst is now behind them.

It was stated in the club's shareholders meeting that the chronic mismanagement of los Che by Juan Soler has led to the club being saddled with more than €500m of debt, €300m of which has been accrued in the last three years.

"Our objective is now to clean up the club, to be realistic and, above all, not to go back to losing money," Llorente continued.

"Our obligation is not to lose money because we cannot borrow in order to finance losses."

The president also stated that it was his priority to move the football club "to the new stadium as soon as possible".

"It cannot be forgotten that Valencia are the third club of Spanish football," he declared.

"The important thing is to finish the stadium and to negotiate the debt".
