Barcelona starlet Pedro could be a surprise inclusion in Vicente Del Bosque's Spain squad for the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.

Although yet to make his debut for La Furia Roja, the 22-year-old striker has played for the Spain Under-21's and according to Sport he was in the thoughts of Del Bosque for the squad for this weeks friendlies against Argentina and Austria before he finally opted for Pablo Hernandez and Jesus Navas.

With Navas' ability to control his homesickness and anxiety problems while away from home under control for certain his participation in the squad is by no means a guarantee at this stage.

Villarreal attacking midfielder Santi Cazorla is still experiencing the back problems which have kept him out of this week's squadso the opportunity is there to make an impression.

Should Pedro manage to maintain his scoring run, which for this season is nine in 16 appearances, he could give Del Bosque something to thing about when selecting his final squad for South Africa.
