We Must Work Hard To Win The World Cup Spain 'Keeper Iker Casillas
The 'keeper gets excited thinking about the Euro 2008 success...
Casillas also declared that the honour of playing for Spain is heightened by the fact that he is captain and also insists that they will go to South Africa in good spirits, where the bookmakers have them favourites to add to their Euro success.
"It's an honor and a responsibility to play in goal for Spain and as captain, even more so. Fortunately, Spain is living an historic moment. One of the greatest joys I have as a footballer has been seeing how people celebrated the Euro. To think that millions of Spanish citizens took to the streets across Spain to celebrate that title still gives me goose bumps. I'm excited by it," he told AS.
"It has has been fabulous to see the effect the Euro has had on the team. We are a group that has faith, hope and excitement but we will be calm because it [the World Cup] is not going to be free. The European Cup was achieved after very hard times, in a play-off, unexpected and painful defeats. We won with hard work and prudence, and we must continue that way."
