Fran Merida Committed To Arsenal As Atletico Madrid Moot Move

The Gunners' youngster is happy where he is for now...

Fran Merida, Spain
Fran Merida has reiterated his desire to stay at Arsenal and try and break into the first team after again being linked with a move to Atletico de Madrid.

The Spain Under-21 star reported for duty with the national team and was asked by reporters about his time in England and whether he could be tempted to leave the Emirates.

Atletico are said to be ready to make their move at the end of the current campaign and offer the midfielder the chance to play regularly at the highest level.

Merida has had a frustrating time at Arsenal due to his lack of first-team opportunities but he thinks that he is now in line to become a more permanent part of Arsene Wenger's plans.

"I am committed to Arsenal and I am only thinking of playing there," he was quoted as saying by Marca.

"I feel I am improving every day and the manager is now involving me more in first team training."
