Deportivo La Coruna's Brayan Angulo Sidelined For Six Months With Knee Injury - Report

The Colombian is likely to need surgery...

Brayam Angulo, Deportivo La Coruña

Deportivo La Coruna will be without the services of Colombian defender Brayan Angulo for at least six months, after the player suffered a torn cruciate ligament in the scoreless second leg of their Copa del Rey tie against Murcia, according to Marca.

The Copa tie at the Riazor was his official debut for Depor after signing a season-long loan deal  from Portuguese side Leixoes during the summer. The Galician outfit have an option to buy the player at the end of the current campaign.

MRI scans at a hospital in La Coruna revealed that the injury was much more serious than first thought, as the initial prognosis was a calf injury.

Angulo must now undergo extensive physiotherapy and will be evaluated by the team's orthopedist Rafael Arriaza, to decide upon a course of action for his recovery.

It is likely that he will have to undergo surgery and face a lengthy spell on the sidelines though, which is generally the case with these types of injuries.
