Barcelona Striker Pedro Aiming For Record By Scoring At Club World Cup

He will be the first player to score in six tournaments in one season if he finds the back of the net at the tournament in Abu Dhabi...

Barcelona starlet Pedro has said that he is hoping to score in the FIFA World Club Championship for the Blaugrana, as it would complete a memorable record for the 22-year-old striker.

Having already scored in the Primera Liga, UEFA Champions League, Spanish Super Cup, UEFA Super Cup and Copa del Rey for Barca, Pedro will become the first player ever to score in six tournaments in one season if he manages to find the net in Abu Dhabi next month.

"I hope I can get lucky and score there [at the club World Cup]. It would be something very nice for me and a very big achievement," he is quoted as saying by Sport.

Pedro has revealed that goalscoring is not a quality he is known for as a footballer and said that it will be difficult to maintain his current scoring run. He also said that scoring goals with Barcelona is made easier by the quality of his team-mates.

"Scoring goals is not one of my strengths, but I'm getting lucky. To continue the streak will be very difficult. In recent games I've scored having received great assistance from Xavi, [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic... It is always easier to play with these world class players," he added.
